Application Process
All applications are coordinated
by MTDI's Director. The director
will assist you in determining if
you meet the MTDI enrollment requirements
and if the curriculum is a good match
for your needs. Other items of discussion
are the credit options, program costs,
course availability and possible
financial aid and other grant funding
information which might be available
to you. Once approved by the director
for enrollment you will be directed
to the appropriate enrollment contacts
at Garrett College. |

Enrollment Requirements
All applicants should possess a high school diploma/GED or
be in the process of completing it prior to attending classes.
Non-high school graduates and foreign applicants are required
to take a nationally recognized ability to benefit test to
determine whether or not the applicant will be enrolled in
the program. A passing score on this test will be acceptable
in lieu of a high school diploma or GED. However, MTDI encourages each student
to pursue a GED or a high school diploma.
Students of MTDI
must hold a current driver license (not a provisional
license), be at least 18 years of age, be able to pass a Department
of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen, have the ability
to obtain a commercial driving license (CDL) learner’s permit,
and possess an acceptable driving record from the Motor Vehicle
Administration.
Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible for the particular class they desire to attend.
A student who has applied to and is accepted by MTDI may not postpone a class starting date without prior approval from the program director.
