Teacher Education

Welcome to the Education Program at Garrett College! We are delighted you are visiting our site and encourage you to browse the information we have provided.

The teacher education programs are committed to providing pre-service teachers with the highest quality education to properly prepare them for the rigors of teaching in the 21st century. By educating teacher candidates in theory, analytical thinking, practical practice, and the latest proven methods we strive to give candidates the necessary tools to become effective and efficient educational leaders.

To adequately prepare our students for the teaching profession all AAT degree seeking candidates must obtain a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 and pass Praxis I (see the Praxis link for more details) upon graduation. Additionally, AA degree seeking students are highly encouraged to take Praxis I.

If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail Alex Tuel, Director of Education and Teacher Preparation.
