More About Programs of Study
What is a program of study?
It is the subject area in which you intend to get a degree or certificate.
What is the difference between being a
program or non-program student?
- If you are enrolled in a program
of study: it means you are pursuing a degree
or certificate. You may be planning to pursue a career
in that field, transfer to a four-year college, or change
careers.
- If you are not enrolled in a
program of study: it means that you are not
pursuing a degree or planning on transferring to a four-year
school in the immediate future. You are taking classes
at Garrett for personal enrichment or to renew basic
skills.
NOTE: If your application
for admission form does not indicate a program of study, you will
be entered in the general studies program.
NOTE: Full-time enrollment
is 12 credit hours or more. Part-time enrollment is 6 to
12 credits. Your enrollment status may effect your elegibility
to receive financial aid.
