Arts and Sciences
Garrett College
is proud of the extraordinary dedication that our
faculty give to our students. We seek to offer instruction, motivation,
energy, and excellence -- and we strive to help our students achieve
their best. Our Arts and Sciences faculty bring a great deal to their classrooms. Please contact them or visit their web
pages for more information.
In general, the Arts and Sciences division
helps students to understand the significance of various courses,
ranging from art to psychology, from physics to English. Each semester,
we offer instruction in disciplines that include:
| Art |
Biology |
Chemistry |
| Journalism |
Language Arts |
Mathematics |
| Music |
Physics |
Theatre |
| Speech |
|
|
Most students who enroll in
Garrett College include at least some of these courses in their schedules each
semester. They enjoy, for instance, taking courses like Ceramics,
Calculus, Images of Women in Literature, Introduction to Theatre, and
Journalism. Nearly all students take essential courses like English 101
and Mathematics 105.
Since GC is dedicated to helping students
start where they are ready to begin, we offer developmental instruction
that helps students strengthen their skills in areas like reading,
writing, and mathematics. Once students are ready to move on, they can
enroll in higher-level courses.
Garrett College
is proud of its "open door" policy, and we want all students
to know that our faculty's doors are open, too. Should you need more
information, please contact any one of us, or the Dean of Academic Affairs
(Interim), Ann Wellham, who can be reached at ann.wellham@garrettcollege.edu
or (301) 387-3059. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
