Transfer
Program
The Business and Information Technology Department at Garrett currently has a well-defined program of study aimed at those students interested in transferring to a four-year institution to continue their business education. The coursework available at Garrett can accommodate a wide variety of business interests—accounting, management, marketing, finance, and economics just to name a few.
Presently, Garrett
has an articulation agreement with Frostburg
State University, Franklin
University and Johns Hopkins University. The Frostburg articulation allows students to take their first
two-years of study at Garrett and transition smoothly to Frostburg to
complete their bachelor’s degree in four years. The agreement with
Franklin University allows students to take their first three years of
study at Garrett and complete their fourth year via distance learning
resulting in students never having to leave Garrett County to obtain their
bachelor’s degree in business. The articulation agreement with Johns Hopkins Carey Business School guarantees that qualified GC students may transfer to Johns Hopkins without loss of credit, provided that students follow the educational path set forth by the agreement. The articulation agreement is carried out through the Johns Hopkins Carey Alliance Program for Excellence (CAPE), which is designed to increase access and encourage greater academic success for students transferring from Garrett to Johns Hopkins.
Garrett’s
academic advisors will assist students in appropriate course selection
and guide them in reviewing transfer requirements to four-year institutions.
