Financing your Garrett Education

New Students must complete the Mapping Your Future Student Loan Counseling Process.

Before Garrett College disburses your Federal Stafford Loan, regulations require you to complete an entrance counseling session at mappingyourfuture.org The counseling session provides information about how to manage your student loans, both during and after school.

Mapping Your Future protects counseling data via a secure web server and the use of password protection. At the end of the online counseling, you will enter information on a secure form. our school then retrieves this information from a secure, password-protected site.

This process takes, on average, 25 minutes.

You will need:

• Your Social Security number
• Your driver's license number, if applicable

You may need the following information:

• Name, address, telephone number and employer of your parent
• Name, address, telephone number and employer of your spouse, if applicable
• Name, address, telephone number and employer for two references residing at different addresses
• Name, address, telephone number and employer of your next of kin

Complete the Stafford entrance counseling.

1. Visit http://mappingyourfuture.org (no www).
2. Click on the "complete Online Student Loan Counseling " link on the left.
3. Click on the "Stafford entrance" link.
4. Complete the steps to select your school, read the content and answer questions, and complete the student form.
5. Print the confirmation page (it has your rights and responsibilities) or note the confirmation number for your records.
6. Once you have completed your entrance counseling, click on the link to choose your lender and complete the Master Promissory Note if required.
