Advising & Placement Indicator Schedule

All new students who plan to enroll in certain certificate and any degree program must take our placement indicator and meet with an academic advisor prior to registering for classes.  Students who meet one of the following criteria may be exempt from portions of the placement test.

ACT = verbal score of 21 or higher                    math score of 21 or higher
SAT = verbal score of 550 or higher                  math score of 550 or higher

New students also must provide a writing sample to ensure proper placement in college writing courses, unless credit for English 101 already has been earned with a grade of “C” or better.  Students who have earned credit for College Algebra or another higher math may be exempt from math placement testing.

Students who wish to use a calculator during math placement are encouraged to bring one on the day of testing.
