Welcome to the Advising and Academic Success Center (AASC)! We look forward to working with you to achieve academic success by providing academic support services in a timely fashion. In order for us to identify and meet your needs promptly, please complete the following application for academic support. Once we receive your application, the Coordinator of Academic Support, Rhonda Schwinabart, will contact you to schedule a one-on-one meeting to determine what support services will best assist you this semester. Note of Academic Support Availability: Once your application is received, the Coordinator of Academic Support will contact you to schedule a meeting to determine what academic support services will best meet your needs. In some cases, content tutoring may not be the best option for you. Instead, we may provide you with assistance in building academic skills or refer you to our Math or Writing Tutoring Centers for support. This decision will be based on the results of a learning skills assessment and from the information gathered during the interview with the Coordinator.

Please also note that any tutoring assignments will be made and sessions will be scheduled based on the days/times tutors are available. In the event that a student is assigned to a tutor, the Coordinator of Academic Support will use the schedule provided with this application to match the student with a tutor. Therefore, be sure to include only times you will be available to tutor for the entire semester. Please consider your class and work schedules, as well as any personal commitments you may have. If you are a Garrett College athlete, do not select times that may interfere with games or practice times. Please understand that the more times you offer, the greater the opportunity you have for placement.

*Please note that the Program Coordinator will use student email accounts to communicate tutoring assignments and other pertinent information to students. Students are expected to check their email accounts on a frequent, regular basis and respond in a timely fashion.
