GC Adds Cross Country to Athletics Roster

The athletic department of Garrett College will expand this fall to include Men's and Women's Cross Country running, according to Shawn Noel, Director of Athletics at Garrett College. Noting his excitement about this announcement, Noel asked: "Is there a better place to run than in the beautiful surroundings of Garrett County?"

Garrett College, currently offers seven intercollegiate sports including women's volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, men's golf, women's golf, and softball. The addition of men's and women's cross country as a fall sport will bring its offering up to nine sports.

Men's and women's cross country will begin at Garrett College with its inaugural team this fall. "The addition of cross country helps strengthen the athletic program at Garrett College. It also opens up the doors to our college to recruit a particular type of student athlete that we were unable to in the past," Noel said.
