GC Volleyball 2-0 on the Weekend

The Garrett College Volleyball team went 2-0 on the weekend defeating two MDJUCO Conference teams; Cecil and CCBC Catonsville.

Sophomore Anamaria Skaro added 5 kills, with a hitting percentange of .500, she also recorded 2 blocks. Sophomore Aleia Biggers lead the Lady Lakers with 8 kills, and Freshman Hillary Ord added 17 assists.

Sophomore Jana Ajdukovic lead the team with 14 kills, 3 service aces, and 3 blocks. Freshman Hillary Ord recorded 22 assists and sophomore Kenya Holmes added 13 digs.

The Ladies are back in action on Wednesday October 1'st 6pm at home vs. Montgomery CC.

Lakers Volunteer at Savage Man


Members of the Garrett College Athletic Teams were all around the county this past weekend as they volunteered for the Savage Man Triathlon. The athletes were stationed at intersections along the bike courses Saturday and Sunday to direct riders and help police with traffic control.

Basketball Preseason Skills Enhancement Program

Boys/ Girls Grades 6-12


The preseason skills enhancement program is a six - week basketball skill develpment, performace enhancement, and injury prevention program; it combines specific exercises for developing core strength and knee/ ankle stability. The program will also incorporate speed, agility, explosive and quickness training, as well as intense fundemental basketball skills and drills. If you are a pleayer that needs help making a team or wanting to start your season as a high level player, then this program is for you.

Athletics Food Booth at GC Fair

LAKERNATION was represented at the fair booth by coaches, athletics staff, friends and family of the athletics program. The Garrett College Athletics Food Booth, in memory of the late Assistant Men's Basketball Coach David K. Martin, was a great sucess in fundraising for the athletic department. The Menu included Crab cakes, Chicken wings, Steakburgers, the very popular Amish Fry Pies, Bavarian Grilled Cheese, Cheesesteaks, and the almost famous Chicken Spiedie Sandwich.
