The Garrett College lady Lakers opened their season on Sunday, March 9, 2013 with a double header at Harford Community College. The Lady Lakers lost the first game with a score of 10-1.

The Lady Lakers won the second game of the double header with a score of 8-7 with a dramatic finish when Harford’s first batter hit a double into center field and tried to stretch it into a triple and was thrown out a third by Hannah Wiltison, center fielder for the first out of the 7th inning. The next batter for Harford hit a single, the third batter reached base by error. Harford had runners on 1st and 2nd with one out and their #6 hitter who hit a blistering line drive down the first base line snagged out of the air by first baseman, Megan Stolbom that made the second out. The first base runner had taken off for second and was tagged out on the return to first for the final out of the game.
