About the Program

The Garrett Lakers compete in the
National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in Region XX, and also the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MDJUCO) at the Division II level. We have a new, state of the art facility that houses a gymnasium with three college sized courts, an athlete only fitness center, team locker rooms, a full time athletic trainer with a fully equipped athletic training room.

About the Coaches

Kim Windstein

Kim is a 2006 graduate of Peters Township High School, located in McMurray, PA. She graduated from Lock Haven University in 2010 with a bachelors’ degree in Athletic Training; and California University of Pennsylvania in 2011 with a masters’ degree in Athletic Training. Kim is currently in her first year as the Head Athletic Trainer at Garrett College.

In high school she played for the Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball Club, and went on to continue her volleyball career at NCAA Division II Lock Haven University. Kim was a middle hitter for the Lady Eagles and among her time at Lock Haven her team was PSAC Champions, Atlantic Region Champions, and was part of the NCAA Elite 8; in 2009 she lead the PSAC in hitting percentage.

Alyssa Rounds

Rounds A

Alyssa is a 2010 graduate of Northern High School, located in Accident, MD. She graduated from Garrett College in 2013 with her Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design. While attending Garrett College, Alyssa was a two sport athlete, playing volleyball and basketball for the Lady Lakers.

Currently, Alyssa works at the Community Aquatic Recreation Complex as a building manager; she has been there since the facility opened in 2011.
