Lady Laker Jamboree

On Saturday Oct. 12th, Garrett College hosted the Lady Laker Jamboree at the CARC Gymnasium. Teams that were in attendance included: Howard Community College, Montgomery College, Brookdale Community College, Frederick Community College, Community College of Baltimore County Dundalk, Delaware Technical & Community College, and our very own Lady Lakers of Garrett College.

The goal of the Lady Laker Jamboree was to provide a safe playing environment that would allow coaches to teach, develop, and prepare their teams for the upcoming season.  Coach Boggess said “I believe that we did a good job accomplishing that goal.”

The Jamboree also provided students, fans, faculty, and staff the opportunity to see the next wave of Lady Laker talent in action.

Thank You, Lady Laker Sophomores!

The Lady Lakers finished the 2012-2013 season with a 10-10 record. Sophomores Terra McKenzie, Janice Bartley, Shameena Johnson, Hannah Hill, and Kailyn Woods proved that with good sophomore leadership a team can triumph through adversity. Coach Bogie said, “It was an honor for me to coach these girls. I hope that they have learned as much from me as I have from them in our short time together. No matter what you do in life be the best at it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and good luck.” Sophomores were honored at halftime on Saturday, February 23, 2013 during the Men’s Basketball game versus N.O.V.A.
