Medical Transcription
This course is an introduction to the Medical Transcription field. The curriculum provides the opportunity for individuals to be trained to listen to dictated recordings made by physicians and other health care professionals and transcribe them, creating medical reports that eventually become part of a patient’s permanent files. A medical transcriptionist will often work for outpatient clinics, physician’s offices, and national transcription services from the comfort of their home. The curriculum consists of four courses for a total of approximately 145 hours of instruction including:
Anatomy, Physiology & Medical Terminology
Medical Transcription Laboratory I & II
Potential students begin by completing an application along with having an assessment of their typing skills.
