Distance Learning Complaint Process for Out of State Students


Garrett College wishes to resolve grievances of students in a prompt and fair manner. Students residing outside of Maryland while attending Garrett College who desire to resolve a grievance should follow the College's Student Grievance Procedure found in the Student Handbook.

Student Grievance Policy


Any Garrett College student who believes that (s)he has been harmed by a decision/action of an academic or non-academic nature as the result of an inappropriate act(s) by an employee(s) of Garrett College is entitled to file a complaint. Actions affecting a student’s final grade should be filed through the Final Grade Appeal Process as outlined in the Garrett College Catalog available on the Garrett College website at www.garrettcollege.edu/academics. All other complaints are considered as Professional Misconduct Complaints. Please refer to the College’s Student Handbook available on the Garrett College’s website at www.garrettcollege.edu/student_life for a full description of Grievance Policies and Procedures.

If an issue cannot be resolved internally, you may file a complaint with the State in which you reside. The Student Grievance Contact Information list below provides links to the appropriate state education agencies. Garrett College is accredited by the Maryland Higher Education Commission and Middle States Commission on Higher Education
