Once registered as a Garrett College student, the Garrett College Information Technology (GCIT) Team generates a student account.  If registered at least two (2) weeks prior to the start of the semester, the GCIT Team mails the account information to the student. Otherwise, the student must visit the GCIT Office in room 319 to pick up his/her account information—bringing a photo ID for identification verification. Once a student has his/her information, he/she can setup their account either on campus  or offfollowing the directions below.

 

On-Campus Account Setup

Follow these instructions to setup your student account on the Garrett College Student Network when on campus:

  • Gather your account information (see above)
  • Go to either a Computer Lab or the Library and start it, if it is not already on
  • Enter your user name in the user name field
  • Press Tab or click in the Password field
  • Enter the temporary password given to you
  • Press enter or click the arrow button
  • The computer will prompt you with a message to change your password—this contains a red X, do not be alarmed, if you read the message it will state simply to enter a new password
  • Enter your new password
  • Follow the instructions to enroll in SSPM when prompted

 

Off-Campus Account Setup

Follow these instructions to setup your student account on the Garrett College Student Network when off campus:

  • Gather your account information (see above)
  • From a computer connected to the Internet, open an Internet browser and enter https://sspm.garrettcollege.edu as the URL and press Enter
  • Click Enroll into SSPM
  • Enter your user name in the user name field
  • Press Tab or click in the Password field
  • Enter the temporary password given to you
  • Press enter or click the submit button
  • Follow the instructions to set a new password and answer security questions
