SBA to Present Free HUBZone Seminar for Businesses at GC's GIEC Incubator

The Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) program will be the topic of a seminar offered at the Garrett Information Enterprise Center (GIEC) at Garrett College on Tuesday, April 15, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the HUBZone program helps businesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities. Sam Reprogel, Business Development representative from the Baltimore office of the SBA will give a presentation called “HubZone Boot Camp” which will provide information on accessing HUBZone certification opportunities, including basic eligibility, the certification process, and maintaining certification. HubZone provides a major opportunity for Garrett County businesses to tap new markets and gain competitive advantage.

More information on this business education opportunity, co-sponsored by Garrett College, the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce, and Garrett County Economic Development, will be available in the near future. Interested persons may also contact Mike Tumbarello, coordinator of the Garrett GIEC business incubator at 301-387-3167.
