Garrett College Foundation Awards Student Scholarships (Part 7)

The Garrett College Foundation board of directors recently announced the winners of scholarships for the academic year 2012-2013. Awards went to current students as well as new students at GC. Among those earning scholarships are the following:

Laurel Baker was awarded the Edward and Hazel Hinebaugh Scholarship. An Oakland resident, Laurel graduated from Southern High School in 2011 and has completed her second semester at Garrett College. She is pursuing her studies in the Graphic Web Design program.

Jordan S. Body was selected to receive the Mountain Lake Park/Oakland Lions Club Scholarship. A resident of Oakland, Jordan is a 2012 graduate of Southern High School. Her goal is to earn her degree in elementary and special education. After completing her associate degree at GC she would like to transfer to Frostburg State University.

Annie E. Graham, who graduated from Southern High School in 2011, has received the Wilma Calhoun Scholarship. A resident of Oakland, Annie is currently a student at Garrett College where she is earning her degree in science. She plans to transfer to West Virginia University to obtain a bachelor degree in agriculture nutrition.

Amber N. Miller, a Grantsville resident and 2011 graduate of Northern High School, has earned the William Henry Schmidt Scholarship. Amber, a current student at Garrett College, is pursuing her degree in nursing. After completing her studies at GC, she plans to transfer to a four-year university to earn a bachelor degree.
