Free Information Sessions Scheduled at CTTC in Accident

Garrett College will host several free information sessions at the Career Technology Training Center in Accident. At this site a range of trade-related courses leading to industry-recognized certifications are slated to begin this fall. Classes, which are offered through the GC Continuing Education and Workforce Development division, will include Certificate for Apartment/Building Maintenance Technician (CAMT), Construction Technology, and Welding.

The following information sessions are scheduled:

Certificate for Apartment/Building Maintenance Technician (CAMT) sessions are Thursday, Aug. 23, 6 - 7 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 25, 9 - 10 a.m.; and Tuesday, Sept. 4, 5 - 6 p.m.

Welding Information sessions, plus and reading/math test for those who are interested, are slated for Thursday, Aug. 23, 4 - 6 p.m.; Thursday, Sept. 5, 5 - 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Sept. 8, 1 – 3 p.m.

Construction Technology Information sessions, plus reading/math test for those who are interested are scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 30, 5 - 7 p.m.; Thursday, Sept. 6, 5 - 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Sept. 8, 10 a.m. - 12 noon.

CTTC coordinator Carol Mowbray Brooks has worked with local officials and business leaders in developing the roster of courses that will be offered at this site. “We are very excited about introducing some new classes as well as continuing to provide those which have been well-attended and evidence a good track record. We have also recently opened our Phase 2 of the center which will greatly enhance our course offerings,” she said.
