GC Foundation Awards Scholarships (Part 9)

The Garrett College Foundation annually presents scholarships to Garrett College students. In the weeks to come the names of those receiving these awards will be published. Following are the names of several scholarship recipients.

Brandi Papa of Oakland has been awarded the Amy Mildred Sharpless Scholarship. Papa is a member of the 2013 graduating class of Southern High School and plans to study Business Management at Garrett College.

Sue Smoot, a resident of Grantsville and currently a student at Garrett College, has been presented with the Fred Carroll Memorial Scholarship. She is pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education.

Alexander Toothman of Oakland has received the Colonel J. Haig and Mrs. Ruth Ridder Jackson Scholarship. He graduated from Southern High School in 2013 and is pursuing a degree in General Studies at GC.

Rachel Thompson, who lives in Oakland, has earned the Dorothy Brock Leighton Scholarship. A 2013 graduate of Southern High School, she will major in Early Childhood Education.

Wisteria Uber, who resides in Swanton, has been awarded the Oakland/Mt. Lake Park Lions Club: Ravenscroft Memorial Scholarship. Having graduated from Southern High School in 2013, she will major in General Studies.
