DEAN OF ADMINISTRATION
Garrett
College, a two-year college in McHenry, Maryland, has an immediate opening
for a Dean of Administration. The Dean of Administration is the third
ranking officer of the college and is responsible for the
finances, financial planning, budgeting, financial control systems and auxiliary
enterprises of the College as well as providing support to the College Foundation. S/he
also supervises the Director of Campus Facilities and has overall responsibility
for capital projects, campus maintenance, safety, parking, and transportation. The
College is committed to participatory governance, and it
seeks a Dean of Administration with strong interpersonal skills and the ability
to work collaboratively with various College constituencies, especially in
the budget development process. Candidate
must possess a Master’s degree and full-time progressive
experience directly relating to financial management. A
CPA and experience in higher education are preferred qualifications.
Garrett College is located in a scenic rural four-season
resort community in the mountains of Western Maryland. The
College is a small public learning-centered institution and
seeks a Dean of Administration committed to a financial management
style supportive of the college’s mission. The
FY 2008 budget is slightly over $10 million.
Hiring Range: $61,505-$82,821 depending on education and
experience. Excellent benefit package available upon successful

DIRECTOR
OF BUSINESS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Garrett
College, a two year community college located in a four
seasons recreational area in western Maryland (approximately
180 miles west of Baltimore and Washington D.C. and 120 miles
south of Pittsburgh), is seeking a Director for its Business
and Information Technology Program (BAIT).
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Computer Science,
Management Information Systems, Business Administration or
a related business and/or information technology field. Full-time
progressive experience required. Teaching experience
preferred. Applicant must be knowledgeable about information
technologies and be willing to engage in continual professional
development to upgrade skills in this ever-changing field.
The applicant must be willing and able to use technology
to teach courses to distance sites via compressed video or
via on-line modalities and interact positively with colleagues
as a team player.
Responsibilities include promoting a vision for Garrett’s
Department of Business and Information Technologies, developing
and implementing curriculum in response to community and
academic needs, supervision of faculty, budget management,
advising students, program assessment, working with the public
schools in delivering programs, and interfacing with the

Salary Range: $44,559 to $59,978. Excellent

Mathematics Instructor - Part-time
Garrett College is seeking a part time mathematics instructor.
We are seeking an instructor who has the ability to teach
in modified accelerated developmental classes. The
ideal applicant will have experience teaching Algebra I,
Algebra II and Geometry. The ideal applicant will
also have experience working with at-risk students in an
activity based classroom and using a graphing calculator.
We are looking to staff both day time and evening classes
Requirements: A Bachelors degree in mathematics.
Rate: $550 per credit hour.

Mathematics Center Technicians and Mentors
GARRETT COLLEGE seeks applications for
Mathematics Center Technician to work in the Garrett
College Math Center
approximately twenty four (24) hours per week. The candidate
should be talented,
energetic, and dedicated. The candidate should have experience
tutoring developmental
and introductory mathematics courses as well as more advanced
mathematic courses.
This person will be responsible for proctoring tests and
helping students on a first come
first served basis. The minimum requirement for this position
is an A.A. degree or
equivalent undergraduate credit with an emphasis in mathematics.
Candidates should possess a valid drivers license and
reliable transportation.
Hourly rate: $8.50 per hour

assist in a mathematics classroom for 8 hours per week. The
candidate should be talented, energetic, and dedicated. The
candidate should have
experience tutoring developmental and introductory mathematics
courses. Duties include
aiding lead instructors with teaching, supervising small
group activities, and helping to
evaluate graded assignments. The minimum requirement for
this position is a grade of B
or better in College Algebra.

evening work may be

Adjunct Position with Mountaintop Truck Driving
Institute
Looking to supplement your retirement

provide classroom and hands-on instruction to prepare students
for driver testing to obtain their Class A, Commercial
Drivers License. Instructor will need to maintain documentation
on course materials, as well as student progress in the
courses as required by agency standards and policies. Successful
