Safety and Security
At Garrett College, safety on campus is of paramount importance.  We make every effort to ensure a safe and secure campus for students and visitors.  Our security department is available around the clock.

• In the event of an emergency, evacuation can be accomplished in an orderly and timely manner.  When an alarm is activated, look for the building monitors wearing orange arm bands.  They can help to guide you or to answer any questions. It is also possible to place the campus in a safe lockdown status.
• Emergency procedures are well established and our security staff is prepared to carry them out.  We also coordinate with the local law enforcement agencies to provide a quick response in emergency situations. 
• Routine patrols are conducted on foot and in vehicles on campus and at the residence halls.
• Escort service to the parking lots or other parts of campus including to and from the residence halls is available when needed.
• Assistance is available for vehicle problems, including flat tires, dead batteries, locked doors, etc.
