Power of Possibilities Competition - 1/23/2025- 1/23/2025
Garrett College, in partnership with the Garrett County Department of Economic Development, and other regional organizations, is working to help improve the economic conditions of rural Appalachia through a new initiative called the Power of Possibilities. The Power of Possibilities (POP) project encompasses a focus on emerging industries, business collaboration, and entrepreneurship to develop and advance the tristate region of Garrett, Allegany, and Washington counties in Maryland, Bedford and Somerset counties in Pennsylvania and Hampshire and Mineral counties in West Virginia.

The Family Development Credential program collaborates with agencies to teach family workers how to coach families to set and reach their goals for healthy self-reliance. Initially based on Cornell University research, the interagency FDC program works is in many states throughout the nation, teaching and credentialing frontline workers from public, private and non-profit service systems (e.g., home visitors, case managers, family resource center workers, community health workers).
