Applications being accepted for GC Distinguished Alumni Award
Rob W. Michael, Garrett College class of 1974, was the recipient of Garrett College’s first-ever Distinguished Alumni Award, presented by the Garrett College Foundation and alumni relations committee. Applications are now being accepted for the current year’s class.
The Garrett College Distinguished Alumni Award honors former students who have excelled in their academic and professional pursuits. This award is one of the most prestigious awards bestowed upon former students and alumni. The Garrett College Foundation’s alumni relations committee recently announced that applications are now being accepted for the current year’s class.
"This award is a great honor not only for Garrett College but also for our community," said Mary Callis, chair of the alumni relations committee. "I look forward for this year’s nominees – this award recognizes those who have excelled not only in their studies but also in their careers."
The award is restricted to those who demonstrate the following qualities: outstanding professional growth, community involvement, demonstrated interest in Garrett College, special achievements, awards, honors or other distinctions, and an educational background which includes honors and involvement in special activities.
An individual or company who has made special contribution(s) to the support, growth, popularity and/or community acceptance of the intercollegiate programming at the College may be nominated as well. Additionally, self-nominations are acceptable, and nominations can also be made in memory of a former student.
Nominations must be received no later than February 1, 2018 and are available online www.garrettcollege.edu/foundation and in the Garrett College Foundation and Athletics offices. Supporting material may accompany nomination forms.
