Customer Service with a Smile, local hospitality expert to lead course

Garrett College Continuing Education and Workforce Development is offering a course, Customer Service with a Smile. The class will be held on Tuesdays, March 13 and 20, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the College’s Northern Outreach Center in Grantsville.

This course is designed to provide participants with skills and techniques to be used in working with customers. Topics to be covered include: stated and hidden expectations of customers; the customers as a guest; the importance of attitude, appearance, and appropriate answers when working with the public; the impact of a smile; communications and customer satisfaction; and angry clients.

The course is being instructed by Emily Newman-Edwards who has worked in the hospitality for over 15 years. As the Director of Operations for Fronterra Resources: Savage River Lodge, The Cornucopia Cafe and Grants Mercantile, her focus is on providing the highest level of customer service in the area.
