Garrett College McHenry campus offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The wearing of CDC-recommended face masks or face coverings is optional, except for individuals required to wear as part of the isolation or quarantine guidelines.

Employees and students are not required to be vaccinated at this time but are strongly encouraged to do so.

Forklift Certification training to be offered in Grantsville

Garrett College Continuing Education and Workforce Development has scheduled a forklift certification course slated for May 4, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the College’s Northern Outreach Center in Grantsville. Time frame may be lengthened or shortened due to class size.

This course is designed to teach the student how to properly operate an industrial powered forklift. The course satisfies 29 CRF 1910.178 of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Powered Industrial Truck Operator Training Standard. Students will receive formal training in the classroom, practical training with hands-on instruction, and an evaluation upon completion of training with successful participants receiving a certificate of training and wallet card. Topics include the following: pre-inspection, loading and unloading, maneuvering and operational skills, rules and regulations, and an emphasis on safety.
