Garrett College to expand appointment-based advising and registration sessions for new students prior to start of Fall semester

GC’s fall semester begins Sept. 9th, still time to apply and register

In preparation for the start of the Fall 2020 semester beginning September 9th, Garrett College will increase new student advising and registration appointment offerings for those interested in studying this fall.

Beginning August 24th, new student advising and registration appointments will be available Monday through Friday in both virtual and in-person formats. Appointments must be scheduled in advance.

First-time students will first need to apply for admission and can do so online at www.garrettcollege.edu. After applying for admission, students will need to work with the Office of Admissions to complete the following: sending of transcripts, determining whether placement testing is needed, and scheduling a new student advising and registration appointment.

Placement testing, if needed, can be done virtually or in-person as well, but must be completed in advance of the student’s scheduled advising and registration appointment. Individuals are highly encouraged to apply, complete placement testing, and provide the Office of Admissions with any needed information as soon as possible.

Returning students that have been enrolled at Garrett College in the previous two years (and haven’t attended another college or institution) should contact the Advising and Academic Success Center directly to register for the Fall 2020 semester. As a reminder, payment for the Fall 2020 semester is due upon registration to avoid disenrollment. Prior to registration, it is recommended that students contact the Financial Aid Office, 301-387-3080, and the Business Office, 301-387-3063.

For additional questions on advising and registering at GC for the fall semester, first-time students are encouraged to contact the Office of Admissions at 301-387-3044, while returning students can reach the Advising and Academic Success Center at 301-387-3715.
