GC Allied Health donates to Garrett Regional Medical Center
Garrett College's Continuing Education and Workforce Development division of allied health recently donated personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies that can be used to treat patients at Garrett Regional Medical Center.
The College's Certified Phlebotomy training program instructor, Bridgette Friend, reached out to Doug Beitzel about the donation for supplies at the hospital.
"We are all in this together, and the College is happy to assist our community in any possible way we can during this time," noted Doug Beitzel, GC's allied health program coordinator. "Many hospitals are facing a shortage of critical care items, including gowns, masks and gloves required to treat patients."
Donated supplies from GC's allied health and paramedic program provided Garrett Regional Medical Center with 125 gowns; 2,000 pairs of gloves; 400 masks; 50 masks with eye protection, and 50 hairnets to assist with patient care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
