GC to offer walk-in advising and registration for Fall Semester August 27-31

There's still time to register for fall semester at Garrett College

Garrett College will be offering walk-in placement testing, advising and registration the week of Monday, August 27th – Friday, August 31st in anticipation of the fall semester beginning on Wednesday, September 5th. All placement testing and registration will take place at the McHenry campus.

Students wishing to attend Garrett College this fall are invited to attend, including new students, returning students, and transfer students. Home schooled students and adults starting or resuming higher education are also encouraged to attend.

Open walk-in placement testing and advising will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. daily. Persons will be directed to the Admissions office first. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply for admission to the college and request to have their transcripts sent in advance; however, neither is required to attend the walk-in event.

Those who do not need placement testing will meet with an academic advisor right away to discuss education and career goals and register for fall classes.

Students who have attended another college or university at any time, must present official transcripts from each institution attended before registering for classes. He or she may bring sealed official transcripts that day, or send them ahead of time.

All college departments, including the business office, residence life, financial aid, bookstore and student services, will be available to answer any questions one may have.

"Garrett College offers a number of programs designed to meet the career and educational needs of traditional and non-traditional students," stated Mike Tumbarello, director of enrollment management at the college. "We are standing by and ready to work with and help all prospective students with advising, coaching, financial aid and ongoing support to ensure student success.

"If prospective students are unsure of their situation or how they can begin, I urge them to contact us and get started. Garrett College is here to help all students succeed," added Tumbarello.
