Garrett College McHenry campus offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

GC's Ariel Watson named to NJCAA Third Team All-American

Garrett College's Ariel Watson (Washington, DC) was recently named to the NJCAA Third Team All-American. He is a sophomore and point guard for the Garrett Lakers men's basketball team.

Watson finished the season averaging 21.6 points per game, highest on the team, first in Region XX, second in MDJUCO, and 14th in the nation; 1.4 steals per game, highest on the team; 5.4 rebounds per game, and 31.9 minutes per game, another leading record for the team.

In his basketball career at Garrett College, he scored a total of 923 points, averaging 16.5 points per game. Watson's other accolades include First Team All-Region XX and First Team All-MDJUCO.

"Ariel has worked hard on becoming a complete player. This year he was a team leader on the floor, second in assists averaging 1.9 per game, and led the team with 40 steals," stated Dennis Gibson, Head Men's Basketball Coach and Athletic Director of Garrett College.

Gibson continued, "We are excited Ariel is being recognized for his many accomplishments. He has also received recruiting interest from numerous division I and division II schools prior to graduation this May."
