Introductory Computer Skills Course scheduled at GC Northern Outreach Center
Garrett College Continuing Education and Workforce Development has scheduled a hands-on computer course, Computers: Getting to Know Them: Part I. The course will be held at the Garrett College Northern Outreach Center in Grantsville on Tuesdays, April 3 - 17, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Have you heard how much fun other people are having with their home computers, and wish you could do the same? Many people who have computers become frustrated not knowing the basics. This course is designed for the computer novice. Topics include the following: desktop functions such as cursor, pull-down menus and taskbar, creating folders and storing files, mouse techniques, and launching applications.
The course is being instructed by Kristine Ayers. Ayers is a Graphic Designer and director for Bethel Christian School. She had earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She has done freelance work for many years and has extended her art to help people with disabilities. She has used her art to help people with disabilities to heal and to help themselves. As an educator, she has helped young people open up and help them realize their dreams. She has also educated people with disabilities to help themselves and become more independent.
