Spring semester at Garrett College begins on January 23rd, registration underway
There is still time for new and returning students to register for classes for the upcoming spring semester at Garrett College. Spring semester will officially begin on Tuesday, January 23rd at the College’s McHenry campus.
Prospective students, whether full or part-time, with an interest in attending Garrett College should have a very good chance at obtaining a full schedule of courses. This includes transfer students. “We understand that all prospective students have different interests, needs and lifestyles,” stated Mike Tumbarello, director of enrollment management at Garrett College. “We try to accommodate our students with a variety of programs, courses, course times, online offerings, and locations.”
For example, Tumbarello explained that hybrid and online courses at GC, which are being offered this coming spring semester, may appeal to those trying to balance education with work and family. Hybrid courses typically meet just once a week, while the remaining instruction is provided online.
It's also not too late to get help paying for college. Financial aid staff can guide prospective students and parents regarding federal, state, and local financial assistance, including the Garrett County Scholarship Program. For questions regarding financial aid, persons may contact the Financial Aid Office at 301-387-3080.
Garrett College also participates in GI Bill® education and training benefits and other military assistance programs. Veterans and active duty members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Services interested in starting or returning to college should contact the Financial Aid Office to discuss military educational benefits.
Local high school students interested in getting an early start on college also are encouraged to consider taking courses at Garrett College. High school students over the age of 16 may take courses that don’t conflict with their regular school day. Home schooled students are also welcome to join the population of dual students at Garrett who earn high school and college credit at the same time.
