News Students Awarded Occupational Scholarship At Gc - Garrett College

Due to the forecasted extreme cold temperature, Garrett College will open at 10:00am, Wednesday, January 22, 2025. All classes and activities with a start time at or after 10:00am will meet as scheduled. Campus will be accessible 45 minutes before the opening time. Essential employees report as scheduled.

Students Awarded Occupational Scholarship at GC

Two students were recently awarded the Occupational Scholarship, as part of the Garrett County Scholarship Program. As of July 2015, students can enroll in eligible workforce development programs, such as welding, machining, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), truck driving, phlebotomy, and other allied health programs. Through the Garrett County Scholarship Program, he or she may be eligible for tuition assistance to complete any of the above programs.

Garrett Kolb, is a resident of Grantsville and will be graduating from Northern High School this coming June. He is currently enrolled in the welding program at Garrett College.

Joston Lipscomb, is a 2017 graduate of Southern High School who resides in Kitzmiller. He is enrolled in the manual machining program at Garrett College.
