Garrett College is inviting applications for the full-time position of Wrestling Coach and Residence Life Coordinator. This position is responsible for all facets of the wrestling program including recruitment, coaching, scheduling, transportation, and fundraising. This position is responsible for all facets of eligibility. This position also assists with game management of athletic home events, camps/clinics, and fundraising efforts. The Residential Coordinator is a live-in position and is responsible for overseeing the students in the Residence Halls and assists in the development and implementation of various duties assigned in the residential community. Required: Must reside on campus in a provided apartment in the residence halls.

The minimum education requirement for this position is a Bachelor’s degree. The applicant must have one year of coaching experience at the college level. The applicant must possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to work as a team member in the college community to include students, staff, faculty, and administration across all departments. Garrett is a small, public, two-year College nestled in the rural mountains of Western Maryland and is approximately a two-hour drive from Pittsburgh and a three-hour drive from Washington, DC and Baltimore. The areas most popular tourist attraction is Deep Creek Lake, the largest fresh water lake in Maryland. Garrett county is also home to WISP Resort, a full season resort with multiple ski slopes, golf courses, and outdoor activities. Initial salary placement range is $44,049 to $52,358. Placement is based on relevant experience. Outstanding benefits package is available shortly upon hire. Garrett College invites applications for a full-time STEM Faculty position to join its team in a new state-of-the-art STEM Center in McHenry, Maryland. This 10-month faculty position (Assistant/Associate Professor rank based on qualification and experience) is responsible for the preparation, development, and presentation of classroom and laboratory courses as well as performing related duties in laboratory management; the academic advisement of students; and participation in the academic planning process. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach across the department’s curriculum, including biology or environmental science in addition to chemistry. Faculty at Garrett College carry a 15-credit/semester teaching load. Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry from an accredited institution. Graduate coursework must include 12 credits in chemistry.
  • A commitment to teaching excellence and the mission of a community college.
  • Teaching experience and competency in laboratory science (college-level preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Twelve graduate credits in biological science or another related STEM discipline.

2021-10-13 Lifeguards for Community Aquatics and Recreation Complex (CARC) McHenry Campus View   Download  

Community Aquatics & Recreation Complex (CARC) is seeking applicants for Lifeguards.

Applicants must have a current certificate in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid. Training and Certifications are available on site. The work schedule will vary, including mornings, nights, weekends, and some holidays. The facility opens at 6am and closes at 8:30 during the weekdays, 8 am-8pm on Saturday, and 10am-6pm on Sunday. There will be physical demands of patrolling the pool deck, making water rescues, and performing CPR. Life guards are required to attend monthly In Service training. The work is indoors.

Personal protective equipment, one hip pack, and one uniform tee shirt will be provided and are required while on duty. Lifeguards are responsible for patron safety. They should be able to assess a situation and quickly respond to an emergency.
