Garrett College is inviting applications for the full-time position of Women's Volleyball Coach and Athletics Assistant. This joint appointment position is responsible for all facets of the women's volleyball program including recruitment, coaching, scheduling, transportation, and fundraising. This position assists with all athletics operations. This position is also responsible for performing administrative duties for the athletic department. This position isrequired to abide by the rules and regulations established by Garrett College and the NJCAA.

The minimum education requirement for this position is a Bachelor's degree. The applicant must have one year of coaching experience at the college level. The applicant must possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to work as a team member in the college community to include students, staff, faculty, and administration across all departments. Garrett is a small, public, two-year College nestled in the rural mountains of Western Maryland and is approximately a two-hour drive from Pittsburgh and a three-hour drive from Washington, DC and Baltimore. The areas most popular tourist attraction is Deep Creek Lake, the largest fresh water lake in Maryland. Garrett county is also home to WISP Resort, a full season resort with multiple ski slopes, golf courses, and outdoor activities. The college is located in an area of Maryland with a general population of around 30,000. Initial salary placement range is $44,930 to $53,405. Placement is based on relevant experience. Garrett College invites applications for a full-time Faculty in Engineering to join its STEM team in McHenry, Maryland. This 10-month faculty position (Assistant/Associate Professor rank based on qualifications and experience) is responsible for the preparation, development, and presentation of classroom and laboratory material; the academic advisement of students; and participation in the academic planning and assessment process.

Garrett College is searching for an outstanding and enthusiastic individual for a full-time faculty position in engineering to begin in the fall of 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of engineering courses with the potential of teaching in the local high schools. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the person filling this position is expected to be actively involved in program promotion and outreach, departmental and campus committees, curriculum development, and program and student learning assessments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree (or near completion) with at least 12 graduate semester hours in mechanical/electrical/computer engineering or a closely related field
  • Minimum five (5) years of industry experience preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of post-secondary community college level teaching experience preferred

Garrett College is located approximately 180 miles west of Baltimore/Washington D.C. and 120 miles south of Pittsburgh. The College is within walking distance of scenic Deep Creek Lake and the Wisp Ski Resort.

Hiring Range: Assistant Professor: $65,629 to $78,038; Associate Professor: $72,357 to $86,036.

Garrett College invites internal applications for a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician I. This position is responsible for general care, custodial, and maintenance of the campus facilities. This position will work primarily in the residence halls doing custodial, general maintenance, and grounds work which includes snow removal. As part of the Facilities Department staff, this position is also responsible, as necessary, for generalized safety of the campus and related College property. This opening is for first shift, 7 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday.

2023-04-10 Part-Time Instructor - Mountaintop Truck Driving Institute McHenry Campus View  

Are you an experienced CDL driver looking to share your knowledge and help shape the next generation of commercial drivers? Garrett College is seeking Part-Time CDL Instructors to support our Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training program at the Mountaintop Truck Driving Institute (MTDI) in Grantsville, MD.

Position Details:

  • Schedule: 2 days per week (8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
  • Location: Mountaintop Truck Driving Institute (MTDI), Grantsville

Role Overview:

As a CDL Instructor, you'll play a critical role in preparing students for entry-level careers in commercial driving. You'll provide hands-on instruction in:

  • Pre-trip inspections
  • Yard skills and backing maneuvers
  • Over-the-road driving techniques
  • Basic logbook and map-reading skills

Program Highlights:

  • Class A Program: 210 hours over 7 ½ weeks (Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.)
  • Class B Program: 6 days of instruction
  • Students train using Garrett College trucks and test on-site
