Community Aquatics & Recreation Complex(CARC) is seeking applicants for Instructors for the I Can Swim program.
I Can Swim is a blended learning experience for Garrett County’s kindergarten students. It is a combination of water safety in the classroom and swim lessons in the pool.
The program runs for 8 weeks in the fall and 6 weeks in the spring during the school year. Hours are 9am-2pm Monday-Thursday. Instructors must enjoy working with children and have some background in aquatics and/or water safety with some knowledge of swimming.
Instructors are responsible for working with a team of instructors to keep the students safe while creating a fun learning environment. Instructors are responsible for classroom set up, classroom tear down, and day to day organization of classroom time.

Community Aquatics & Recreation Complex(CARC) is seeking applicants for Lifeguards.
Applicants must have acurrent certificate in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid.
The work schedule will vary, including mornings, nights, weekends, and some holidays. The facility opens at 6am and closes at 8:30 during the weekdays, 8 am-8pm on Saturday, and 10am-6pm on Sunday. There will be physical demands of patrolling the pool deck, making water rescues, and performing CPR. Life guards are required to attend monthly In Service training. The work is indoors.
Personal protective equipment, one hip pack, and one uniform tee shirt will be provided and are required while on duty.Lifeguards are responsible for patron safety. They should be able to assess a situation and quickly respond to an emergency.

Garrett College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer. This position will be required to administer all areas required as an athletic trainer including but not limited to; injury care and prevention, first aid, injury rehabilitation, planning and record keeping for athletes. In addition this position will be required to assist with data tracking of athletes, assist athletic director with day to day operations, game management responsibilities at assigned games, and social media updates.
Qualifications: Master's degree in a related field. Bachelor's degree from a CAATE accredited program. One to three years of athletic training experience is preferred. First Aid/CPR/AED instructor preferred. Must have a Certified Athletic Trainer Certificate.
Pay range is $36,268 to $47,149. Outstanding benefits package is available shortly upon hire. Paid time off is offered after successful completion of the ninety-day (90-day) provisional period.

Each 5th grade class spends 4 days in classrooms at Garrett College where they receive instruction, lessons and activities that may not be offered within the regular 5th grade curriculum. Garrett College, a two-year learner-centered college located in a rural four-season recreational environment in western Maryland, seeks an outstanding and enthusiastic individual for a full-time Assistant Professor position in the Cybersecurity/Information Technology program to begin in the fall of 2019. The successful candidate will have the ability and demonstrated experience to teach a variety of cybersecurity and information technology courses including programming, cybersecurity security, networking and other related subject areas. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the person filling this position is expected to be actively involved in departmental and campus committees and will participate in curriculum development as well as student learning assessments.
Qualified applicants will hold a Master's degree (or near completion) with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field. At least two years of full-time college teaching experience, or equivalent is preferred, as is a commitment to a learner-centered environment marked by academic integrity while community college teaching experience is highly desired. Since the information technology program is heavily hands-on, industry certifications such as A+, Net+, or Security+ are strongly encouraged. The Continuing Education and Workforce Development division of Garrett College is seeking part-time instructors to support the expanding Workforce Development courses listed below. The classes will be conducted at the Career Technology Training Center (CTTC) located in Accident, Maryland.
Building Maintenance: Experience maintaining and completing minor repairs in multiple areas of building maintenance including exterior and interior walls, HVAC, appliances, electric/lighting and plumbing.
Construction Technology: Skilled in the use of methods commonly used in residential construction including safety, masonry, floor/wall/roofing/stair system, basic residential electrical wiring, basic plumbing and HVAC and dry wall installation.
Electronics: Knowledge of the overall electronics trade and experience with current and emerging technologies.
Welding: SMAW, GMAW, FCAW equipment set-up and welding techniques. Welding symbols, print reading and math required in the welding profession.
Pipefitting: Experience with pipe fabrication and installation in various environments.
Instructor Skill Requirements: Certification, education and/or experience in the area of instruction. Some teaching experience preferred but not required. Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students.
Salary: $20 to $30 per hour based on experience and course content.
