Community Aquatics & Recreation Complex (CARC) is seeking applicants for Instructors for the I Can Swim program. I Can Swim is a blended learning experience for Garrett County’s kindergarten students. It is a combination of water safety in the classroom and swim lessons in the pool. The program runs for 6 weeks in the fall and 6 weeks in the spring during the school year. Hours are 9am-2pm Monday-Thursday. Instructors must enjoy working with children and have some background in aquatics and/or water safety with some knowledge of swimming. Instructors are responsible for working with a team of instructors to keep the students safe while creating a fun learning environment. Instructors are responsible for classroom set up, classroom tear down, and day to day organization of classroom time. Garrett College invites applications for a full-time Public Services Librarian. The Public Services Librarian supports the Head Librarian in the delivery of instruction, research, and information services; participates in collection and access services; and leads student-centered engagement and outreach initiatives within the Library & Learning Commons. This position provides information literacy instruction and reference support, develops instructional materials, coordinates daily public service operations, and supervises student employees. This position develops, coordinates, and evaluates student engagement programming and outreach initiatives that promote student success, connection, and use of library and Learning Commons resources. The Public Services Librarian collaborates with faculty, staff, and campus and community partners to support student learning, engagement, retention, and broader Learning Commons initiatives. Qualifications: One or more years’ related training and/or experience preferred. Education: MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited program; will consider candidate seeking MLS or MLIS Hiring Range: Annual salary range is $54,814 to $65,154. Placement is based on relevant experience. The Admissions & Registration Representative provides professional customer service and support in the areas of admissions, registration, and academic records. This position serves as a front-line resource for students, faculty, staff, and the public; performs administrative and operational functions that support enrollment services and student success; maintains academic records; and acts as an authorized agent of the College in issuing official documents, including transcripts and verifications. Qualifications: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in an office setting. Education/experience: High School diploma. Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred. Garrett College is inviting applications for the full-time position of Wrestling Coach/Residence Life Coordinator. This position is responsible for all facets of the wrestling program including recruitment, coaching, scheduling, transportation, and fundraising. This position also assists with game management of athletic home events, camps/clinics, and promotions of home contests. The Residential Coordinator is a live-in position and is responsible for overseeing the students in the Residence Halls and assists in the development and implementation of various duties assigned in the residential community. This position must reside on campus in a provided apartment. The minimum education requirement for this position is a Bachelor’s degree. The applicant must have one year of coaching experience at the college level. The applicant must possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to work as a team member in the college community to include students, staff, faculty, and administration across all departments. The college is located in an area of Maryland with a general population of around 30,000. Initial salary placement range is $44,930 to $53,405. Placement is based on relevant experience.
