The Academic Success Advisor helps students explore academic, career, and transfer options that meet their future life goals. This position strongly supports the College’s retention and degree completion initiatives through individual and group advising sessions and programming. This position serves as the student success liaison to the College’s workforce development programs, working closely with students as they explore academic and career options. Occasional travel to satellite campuses. Evening and weekend hours may be required. Qualified applicants will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in education, counseling, psychology, human resources, or related field. A minimum of one (1) year of work-related experience. Faculty at Garrett College carry a 15-credit/semester teaching load. Occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to promote campus-wide online learning initiatives and ensure quality teaching and learning experiences. The position serves as the administrator of the Learning Management System (LMS), provides user support, and acts as the primary point of contact for the online bookstore. Responsibilities may include teaching up to six (6) credits per semester, providing in-person LMS support to students at loca l high schools, and working evening and weekend hours as needed. Qualified applicants will hold a Master’s Degree, with required experience in Instructional Design, Distance Learning, Academic Instruction, or related fields. Instructional and Information Technology experience is preferred. A Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the coordination or management of a distance learning program or LMS, teaching in an on-line environment, curriculum development experience with online and distance learning quality best practices and design standards (such as Quality Matters) is required. This joint appointment position is responsible for all facets of the women's volleyball program including recruitment, coaching, scheduling, transportation, and fundraising. This position assists with all athletics operations. This position is also responsible for performing administrative duties for the athletic department. This position isrequired to abide by the rules and regulations established by Garrett College and the NJCAA. The minimum education requirement for this position is a Bachelor's degree. The applicant must have one year of coaching experience at the college level.
