2020-07-16 Instructor - Introduction to Diesel Mechanics: Preventative Maintenance N.O.C. View  

The Continuing Education and Workforce Division of Garrett College is seeking a motivated individual to provide classroom and hands-on instruction to prepare students to take the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) entry level student certification exam: Inspection, Maintenance, And Minor Repair. Content areas include the following: diesel engines, drive train, brakes, suspension and steering, electrical systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. The ideal candidate for the job is an experienced diesel mechanic (certification is a plus) who is interested in a part-time, daytime position helping students learn essential skills for entry-level employment. Prior teaching experience is NOT required. We are looking for someone who is energetic and enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge with others, while making a difference in the community. Mountaintop Truck Driving Institute of Garrett College in Grantsville, MD is seeking a motivated part-time instructor to provide classroom and hands-on instruction to prepare students for their commercial driver's license. Successful applicant must possess effective listening and communication skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and have a commitment to help students learn and succeed. The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma, a minimum of four years of experience as a Commercial Truck Driver, an excellent driving record, and possess a current CDL license. Weekends are a must and applicant must be able to DOT inspect equipment for safety.
