Variable Hour Custodial TechnicianGarrett College is seeking applicants for a variable hour custodial technician. (24 -30 hours per week.) This position works night shift from 10 PM to 6 AM. Weekends are required. There are no benefits associated with this position other than sick and safe leave. Duties of the custodial technician include, but are not limited to, the following: performing all tasks related to cleaning and housekeeping of the campus facilities and, as necessary, for the generalized security of the campus and related College property. Candidates for this position should possess: some knowledge of the operation of motorized maintenance equipment and materials; the ability to read and write; ability to follow written and oral instructions; the ability to read and work from simple diagrams; the ability to get along well with others; the ability to work alone and possess a valid driver’s license. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Position requires significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. Community Aquatics & Recreation Complex (CARC) is seeking applicants for Lifeguards. Applicants must have a current certificate in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid. Training and Certifications are available on site. The work schedule will vary, including mornings, nights, weekends, and some holidays. The facility opens at 6am and closes at 8:30 during the weekdays, 8 am-8pm on Saturday, and 10am-6pm on Sunday. There will be physical demands of patrolling the pool deck, making water rescues, and performing CPR. Life guards are required to attend monthly In Service training. The work is indoors. Personal protective equipment, one hip pack, and one uniform tee shirt will be provided and are required while on duty. Lifeguards are responsible for patron safety.
