Garrett College is inviting applications for the full-time position of Men’s Soccer Coach and Athletics Assistant. This joint appointment position is responsible for all facets of the men’s soccer program including recruitment, coaching, scheduling, transportation, and fundraising. This position assists with all athletics daily operations. Also, this position is responsible for assisting with scheduling and managing athletic events, including practices and contests, and also non-athletic events requiring use of athletic facilities in R25.

The minimum education requirement for this position is a Bachelor’s degree. The applicant must have one year of coaching experience at the college level. The applicant must possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to work as a team member in the college community to include students, staff, faculty, and administration across all departments.

Garrett is a small, public, two-year College nestled in the rural mountains of Western Maryland and is approximately a two-hour drive from Pittsburgh and a three-hour drive from Washington, DC and Baltimore. The area’s most popular tourist attraction is Deep Creek Lake, the largest fresh water lake in Maryland. Visit the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce. This position is a working supervisory and operational leadership role responsible for coordinating workforce training programs and overseeing day-to-day operations at the College's Northern Outreach Center.

The coordinator supervises and evaluates adjunct trade and transportation instructors; coordinates instructional schedules and program operations; works with support staff; and assists prospective and enrolled students with admissions, orientation, enrollment, advising, and student engagement.

The coordinator also works directly with employers and community partners to identify workforce training needs, develop training opportunities, recruit students, and support successful program outcomes.

Qualifications: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in workforce development or career training/education, or related industry experience.

Education/experience: Associate’s degree and 5 years of related work experience. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Hiring Range: Salary is $51,956 to $61,756 per year. Placement is based on relevant experience. Outstanding benefits package is available shortly upon hire.

GARRETT COLLEGE is seeking applicants for a variable hour campus safety and security officer.

This position requires working weekends 11PM to 7AM. Applicant can expect to work 16–24 hours per week with some flexibility available. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license; must have reliable transportation or means of getting to and from work; be able to attend training; and be neat and clean in appearance.

This position is responsible for protecting individuals on campus property and maintaining the security of campus buildings, facilities, parking lots, walkways, and grounds of the College.

• Must always be accessible for phone communication.

The Continuing Education and Workforce Development Division at Garrett College is accepting applications for a Welding Instructor.

Community Aquatics & Recreation Complex (CARC) is seeking applicants for Instructors for the I Can Swim program.

I Can Swim is a blended learning experience for Garrett County’s kindergarten students. It is a combination of water safety in the classroom and swim lessons in the pool.

The program runs for 6 weeks in the fall and 6 weeks in the spring during the school year. Hours are 9am-2pm Monday-Thursday. Instructors must enjoy working with children and have some background in aquatics and/or water safety with some knowledge of swimming.

Instructors are responsible for working with a team of instructors to keep the students safe while creating a fun learning environment. Instructors are responsible for classroom set up, classroom tear down, and day to day organization of classroom time.
