Garrett College, a two-year learner-centered college located in a rural four-season recreational environment in western Maryland, seeks an outstanding and enthusiastic individual for a full-time Assistant Professor position in the Cybersecurity/Information Technology program to begin in the fall of 2020. The successful candidate will have the ability and demonstrated experience to teach a variety of cybersecurity and information technology courses including programming, cybersecurity security, networking and other related subject areas. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the person filling this position is expected to be actively involved in departmental and campus committees and will participate in curriculum development as well as student learning assessments. Qualified applicants will hold a Master’s degree (or near completion) with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field. At least two years of full-time college teaching experience, or equivalent is preferred, as is a commitment to a learner-centered environment marked by academic integrity while community college teaching experience is highly desired. Since the information technology program is heavily hands-on, industry certifications such as A+, Net+, or Security+ are strongly encouraged. Additionally, Garrett College seeks applicants who can contribute to the enrichment of the multi-cultural and learning environment of the College.

Garrett College is located 180 miles west of Baltimore and 120 miles south of Pittsburgh. The College is within walking distance of scenic Deep Creek Lake and the Wisp Ski Resort.

Hiring Range: $52,984 to $66,197 (10 month position) with an excellent fringe benefit package.

11-8-2019 Variable Hour Custodial Technician McHenry Campus View  

GARRETT COLLEGE is seeking applicants for a variable hour custodial technician. (16-30 hours per week.)This position works night shift from 10 PM to 6 AM. Weekends may be required.

Duties include performing all tasks related to cleaning and housekeeping of the campus facilities and, as necessary, for the generalized security of the college campus.

Garrett College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer. This position will be required to administer all areas required as an athletic trainer including but not limited to; injury care and prevention, first aid, injury rehabilitation, planning and record keeping for athletes. In addition this position will be required to assist with data tracking of athletes, assist athletic director with day to day operations, game management responsibilities at assigned games, and social media updates.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field. Bachelor’s degree from a CAATE accredited program. One to three years of athletic training experience is preferred. First Aid/CPR/AED instructor preferred. Must have a Certified Athletic Trainer Certificate.

Pay range is $36,268 to $47,149. Outstanding benefits package is available shortly upon hire. Paid time off is offered after successful completion of the ninety-day (90-day) provisional period. Garrett College invites applications for a full-time Technical Services Librarian position.The Technical Services Librarian will support the Director of the Learning Commons in the area of information technology, specifically the implementation, coordination, operation, and maintenance of all library computer systems, including assisting with the management and development of the automated library system, local area network, and wide area network. This position maintains the accuracy and integrity of bibliographic and authority records in the online catalog, performs original and copy cataloging when needed, maintains database linkages,and provides statistics and reports on database usage.

08-15-2019 Lifeguards for Community Aquatics & Recreation Complex McHenry Campus View   Download  

Community Aquatics & Recreation Complex(CARC) is seeking applicants for Lifeguards.

Applicants must have acurrent certificate in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid.

The work schedule will vary, including mornings, nights, weekends, and some holidays. The facility opens at 6am and closes at 8:30 during the weekdays, 8 am-8pm on Saturday, and 10am-6pm on Sunday. There will be physical demands of patrolling the pool deck, making water rescues, and performing CPR. Life guards are required to attend monthly In Service training. The work is indoors.

Personal protective equipment, one hip pack, and one uniform tee shirt will be provided and are required while on duty.Lifeguards are responsible for patron safety. They should be able to assess a situation and quickly respond to an emergency.

Part-time Instructor - Mountaintop Truck Driving Institute N.O.C. View  

Mountaintop Truck Driving Institute of Garrett College in Grantsville, MD is seeking a motivated part-time instructor with potential to become full time employment. Instructor will provide classroom and hands-on instruction to prepare students for their commercial driver's license. Successful applicant must possess effective listening and communication skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and have a commitment to help students learn and succeed.
