Garrett College invites applications for a full-time Financial Aid Counselor/Veterans Affairs. The position duties include:

  • Counseling and advising students and parents on the various financial aid programs.
  • Assisting with the administration of one or more federal, state, or institutional financial aid programs.
  • Evaluating Financial Aid applications in order to determine student eligibility for various financial aid programs.
  • Collecting data and keeping accurate records.
  • Must continually train on federal and state as well as institutional regulatory changes.
  • Oversees work-study placement and related Federal Work-Study (FWS) processes.
  • Coordinates projects with admissions, records, and the Business Office.
  • This position serves as the VA Certifying Official for the College and connection between veteran students and the use of their G.I. benefits.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree with five (5) years work experience in Accounting/Finance/Business/IT or Bachelor's Degree with three (3) years work experience in Accounting/ Finance/Business /IT Preference to applicant with financial aid and/or Higher Education experience with a Bachelor's Degree.

Salary placement is based on relevant experience. Outstanding benefits package is available shortly upon hire. Garrett College invites applications for a full-time Technical Services Librarian position.The Technical Services Librarian will support the Director of the Learning Commons in the area of information technology, specifically the implementation, coordination, operation, and maintenance of all library computer systems, including assisting with the management and development of the automated library system, local area network, and wide area network. This position maintains the accuracy and integrity of bibliographic and authority records in the online catalog, performs original and copy cataloging when needed, maintains database linkages,and provides statistics and reports on database usage.

Experience Required: One or more years related training and/or experience preferred.

Minimum Education Requirements: MLS from an ALA accredited program.

Garrett College invites applications for a full-time Developmental Mathematics Faculty position.This 12-month faculty/academic success specialist position (Instructor/Assistant Professor rank based on qualifications and experience) is responsible for the preparation, development, and presentation of classroom material; the academic advisement of students; and participation in the academic planning process. Faculty at Garrett College carry a 15-credit/semester teaching load, but the faculty member in this position will have a one course (3 credits) release time to the Advising & Academic Success Center (AASC) for intrusive advising and academic coaching. Some evening and weekend hours required.

Required Qualifications:

  • , Mathematics Education, or related field from an accredited institution. (Graduate coursework must include a minimum of 18 credits in mathematics.)

08-15-2019 Lifeguards for Community Aquatics & Recreation Complex McHenry Campus View   Download  

Community Aquatics & Recreation Complex(CARC) is seeking applicants for Lifeguards.

Applicants must have acurrent certificate in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid.

The work schedule will vary, including mornings, nights, weekends, and some holidays. The facility opens at 6am and closes at 8:30 during the weekdays, 8 am-8pm on Saturday, and 10am-6pm on Sunday. There will be physical demands of patrolling the pool deck, making water rescues, and performing CPR. Life guards are required to attend monthly In Service training. The work is indoors.

Personal protective equipment, one hip pack, and one uniform tee shirt will be provided and are required while on duty.Lifeguards are responsible for patron safety. They should be able to assess a situation and quickly respond to an emergency.

Garrett College, a two-year learner-centered college located in a rural four-season recreational environment in western Maryland, seeks an outstanding and enthusiastic individual for a full-time Assistant Professor position in the Cybersecurity/Information Technology program to begin in the fall of 2019. The successful candidate will have the ability and demonstrated experience to teach a variety of cybersecurity and information technology courses including programming, cybersecurity security, networking and other related subject areas. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the person filling this position is expected to be actively involved in departmental and campus committees and will participate in curriculum development as well as student learning assessments.

Qualified applicants will hold a Master's degree (or near completion) with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field. At least two years of full-time college teaching experience, or equivalent is preferred, as is a commitment to a learner-centered environment marked by academic integrity while community college teaching experience is highly desired. Since the information technology program is heavily hands-on, industry certifications such as A+, Net+, or Security+ are strongly encouraged. Additionally, Garrett College seeks applicants who can contribute to the enrichment of the multi-cultural and learning environment of the College.

Part-time Instructor - Mountaintop Truck Driving Institute N.O.C. View  

Mountaintop Truck Driving Institute of Garrett College in Grantsville, MD is seeking a motivated part-time instructor with potential to become full time employment. Instructor will provide classroom and hands-on instruction to prepare students for their commercial driver's license.
