2021-09-10 Database Administrator McHenry Campus View   Download  

This position has overall responsibility for the maintenance of the College's Management Information Systems (MIS). Perform updates to database and MIS software. Creates and maintains role-based access control (RBAC) within the MIS. Acts as a liaison between users and software vendors to solve problems. Works with users to develop automation solutions to realize efficiencies.

Bachelor’s degree in an IT or related field is required along with a minimum three (3) years’ experience with SQL database management, customization of databases with SQL, and with report and web development.

Salary range is $45,056 to $53,555. We offer an outstanding fringe benefit package. Health plan is available the first of the month after hire date. Paid time off is available after the successful completion of a 90-day provisional period.

2021-09-10 Lead Instructor of Transportation McHenry Campus View   Download  

Garrett College is seeking applicants for the position of Lead Instructor of Transportation. This full time position will work out of the Northern Outreach Center in Grantsville.

The Lead Instructor of Transportation is responsible for the coordination of courses and programs in the transportation industry, delivered through the Mountaintop Truck Driving Institute.

The Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Supervising adjunct instructors
  • Curriculum identification and delivery
  • Teaching responsibilities
  • Keeping abreast of laws and regulations in the transportation industry
  • Student recruitment
  • And other tasks as identified by the Director of Workforce Development

The Lead Instructor will work within the guidelines of the program to facilitate student success at all levels of instruction, including passing the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Examination. This position is responsible for the general management of classroom, range and over-the-road instruction for MTDI and assisting with other transportation programming as required.

All applicants must have a current Class A license in order to take students over-the -road for practical experience. In addition, the Coordinator must meet, or be willing to meet, the criteria for entry level driver instructor according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration ruling.

Garrett College is seeking applicants for a full-time Staff Accountant.

This position is responsible for the performance of a wide variety of accounting functions including accounts receivable, preparation of journal vouchers, ata entry of cash receipts, general ledger review, reconciliation, and analysis. There is emphasis on customer service, student financial account services, cashiering, and processing of checks and deposits.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field is required along with a minimum one (1) year experience with customer service.

2021-08-12 Lifeguards for Community Aquatics and Recreation Complex (CARC) McHenry Campus View   Download  

Community Aquatics & Recreation Complex (CARC) is seeking applicants for Lifeguards.

Applicants must have a current certificate in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid. Training and Certifications are available on site. The work schedule will vary, including mornings, nights, weekends, and some holidays. The facility opens at 6am and closes at 8:30 during the weekdays, 8 am-8pm on Saturday, and 10am-6pm on Sunday. There will be physical demands of patrolling the pool deck, making water rescues, and performing CPR. Life guards are required to attend monthly In Service training. The work is indoors.

Personal protective equipment, one hip pack, and one uniform tee shirt will be provided and are required while on duty. Lifeguards are responsible for patron safety. They should be able to assess a situation and quickly respond to an emergency.

2021-08-12 Instructors for I Can Swim McHenry Campus View   Download  

Community Aquatics & Recreation Complex (CARC) is seeking applicants for Instructors for the I Can Swim program with training and certifications available on site.

I Can Swim is a blended learning experience for Garrett County’s kindergarten students. It is a combination of water safety in the classroom and swim lessons in the pool.

The program runs for 8 weeks in the fall and 6 weeks in the spring during the school year. Hours are 9am-2pm Monday-Thursday. Instructors must enjoy working with children and have some background in aquatics and/or water safety with some knowledge of swimming.

Instructors are responsible for working with a team of instructors to keep the students safe while creating a fun learning environment. Instructors are responsible for classroom set up, classroom tear down, and day to day organization of classroom time.
