Garrett College McHenry campus offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The wearing of CDC-recommended face masks or face coverings is optional, except for individuals required to wear as part of the isolation or quarantine guidelines.

Equine Massage to be offered in Grantsville

Garrett College's Continuing Education and Workforce Development will be offering a course, Equine Massage, at the Northern Outreach Center in Grantville. The course is slated for Thursday, March 15, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.

This course presents equine anatomy and physiology, safety issues for both the horse and the therapist, how s/he uses stretches to benefit the horse, and how to s/he uses attention when touching horses. Topics include the following: how horses respond to massage, how to manage muscle soreness and exertion in horses, important equine anatomical structures and muscles, how to use compression, direct pressure, and fascial stretching on a horse.

This course is being taught by Debbie Daniels. She is a certified animal massage therapist, as well as a Certified Pet First Aid and CPR Responder. She is a member of the International Association of Animal Massage and Bodywork and holds certification in canine and equine massage.
