Flagger Training Certification to be offered in Grantsville

Garrett College Continuing Education and Workforce Development has scheduled a flagger training certification course slated for September 28, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Garrett College Northern Outreach Center in Grantsville.

This certification course is required for individuals flagging along Maryland roadways and is approved by the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) and will be instructed by a certified flagger professional. Topics include the following: flagging standards, flagger qualifications, proper flagging procedures, use of equipment such as two-way radios, signs, flags, and what to do in special situations.

Certification cards will be issued to those who demonstrate a competency and knowledge of proper flagging techniques and practices. Note: course may be lengthened or shortened due to number of attendees.
