Garrett College Foundation Notes Scholarship Awards

The Garrett College Foundation annually presents scholarships to Garrett College students. Following are the names of scholarship recipients for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Leonard Ford, a current student who lives in Kitzmiller, has been awarded the Garrett College Employee Scholarship and the Garrett County Retired School Personnel Memorial Scholarship. He is pursuing his associate in arts degree in teacher education: secondary education.

McKenna Fazenbaker, a resident of Lonaconing, has received the Hazel Fratz Wright Scholarship. She is pursuing her associate in arts degree in arts & sciences: fine and performing arts, visual arts.

Brianna Evans, a current student who resides in Oakland, has been awarded the Charles L. Briner Memorial Scholarship. She is pursuing her associate in arts degree in business administration.

Cameron Garcia, a resident of Denver City, Texas, has received the Garrett College Foundation Grant. He is pursuing his associate in arts degree in arts & sciences: mathematics/science.

Sydney Friend, of Oakland, has been awarded the Oakland/Mt. Lake Park Lions Club: Ravenscroft Memorial Scholarship. She is pursuing her associate of arts in teaching degree in elementary education/special education.

Jaran Pruett, a resident of Oakland, has received the James H. & Gladys “Happy” Nordeck Memorial Scholarship II. He is pursuing his associate in arts degree in arts & sciences: mathematics/science.

Madison Feltner, a 2017 graduate of Catoctin High School and resident of Thurmont, Md., has been awarded the Michael D. Kilgus Scholarship for Excellence. She is pursuing her associate of applied science degree in natural resources & wildlife technology.

Tyler Ray, a current student and resident of Pompano Beach, Fla., has received the Garrett College Foundation Grant. He is pursuing his associate in arts degree in business administration.

Trenton Rinker, a 2017 graduate of Southern High School who lives in Swanton, has been awarded the Colonel J. Haig & Mrs. Ruth Ridder Jackson Scholarship. He is pursuing his studies in nursing.

Alexis Harvey, a resident of Oakland, has received the Clinton Englander Memorial Scholarship. She is pursuing her associate in arts degree in business administration.

Mary Zook, a resident of Harrisonburg, Va., has been awarded the Garrett College Foundation Grant. She is pursuing her associate of applied science degree in adventure sports management.

Bryson Bittinger, of Oakland, has received the Woodmen of the World Scholarship. He is pursuing his studies in nursing.
