GC opens volleyball season versus ACM
Lakers host Trojans Sept. 8th at 6 p.m. to kick off 19-match schedule
Garrett College will open the 2022 women’s volleyball season by hosting Allegany College of Maryland Thursday, September 8th in a 6 p.m. Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference match.
In a unique scheduling twist, the Lakers’ first five Maryland JuCo matches are at home: ACM, Howard Community College (Sept. 13), College of Southern Maryland (Sept. 17), Hagerstown Community College (Sept. 20) and Cecil College (Sept. 23). All start at 6 p.m., except for a 10 a.m. match against the College of Southern Maryland.
GC’s final four conference matches are on the road: Anne Arundel Community College (Oct. 1, 11 a.m.), Chesapeake College (Oct. 7, 6 p.m.), Montgomery College (Oct. 8, noon), and Frederick Community College (Oct. 15, 4 p.m.).
The Lakers also have a home-and-home series with a trio of Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference teams: Pennsylvania Highlands Community College (A-Sept. 19; H-Oct. 18); Westmoreland County Community College (H-Sept. 28; A-Oct. 11); and Community College of Beaver County (H-Sept. 17; A-Oct. 17). GC also plays at WPCC member Butler County Community College on September 27th.
GC’s other three regular-season matches are against visiting Potomac State College of West Virginia University (Oct. 4, 6 p.m.) and Northern Virginia Community College (Oct. 6, 7 p.m.), and against Howard Community College as part of a tri-match at Anne Arundel Community College on October 1st at 1 p.m.
