New hospitality courses offered by GC's CEWD
Registration now open for classes beginning May 11th
Garrett College's Continuing Education & Workforce Development division is pleased to offer the following hospitality and tourism courses to help prepare for a busy summer season.
Whether you're a seasoned professional, or new to the industry, the "new normal" in hospitality and tourism is changing! Our interactive workshop, Survival Skills for the Summer Season, is designed to provide employees with base knowledge of the skills to help during the upcoming season with topics including professionalism, communication skills, dealing with difficult people and the importance of teamwork.
The Bartender Basics course will provide bartenders with a foundational skill set that includes drink knowledge, basic bar terminology, pour counts, cocktail construction, mixing techniques, customer service skills, organization, plus time-management knowledge to remain calm under stressful circumstances.
Both courses are being supported by the GEER II funding, resulting in full or partial scholarships available.
Enrollment for both courses is now open and classes will begin on May 11, 2022 and will be held at the McHenry campus, Building 100, Room 103. To register for the above courses, please email matia.vanderbilt@garrettcollege.edu.
