“Making Waves; Making History – The Women’s Movement” next installment in JCLS

GC’s Dr. Terry Kasecamp to present on March 16th at College

GC’s Dr. Terry Kasecamp will be presenting the next installment in the spring 2022 Joan Crawford Lecture Series of presentations.  Her presentation, “Making Waves; Making History – The Women’s Movement” is scheduled for Wednesday, March 16th, 2022 at 6 p.m.  The presentation will be held in the College’s Auditorium (Room 715) of the McHenry campus.

Kasecamp’s presentation is being held in accordance with Women’s History Month, and will feature select monologues from pioneers in the women’s movement and their impact on women’s rights.  Kasecamp has been with Garrett College since the fall semester of 1996 and currently serves as the interim academic director of social and behavioral sciences at Garrett College.

In memory and in honor of the dynamic educator Joan R. Crawford, the Garrett College faculty created the Joan Crawford Lecture Series.  Crawford, who died on October 5, 2010, served the College community for more than 30 years.  She joined the staff of the fledgling community college in 1972 and worked in many capacities in the decades that followed, including serving as the head of the humanities division and director of enrollment.  After her retirement, Crawford was named Professor Emerita.

The Joan Crawford Lecture Series of presentations are offered free of charge and the public and community members are invited to attend.  All presentations from the Joan Crawford Lecture Series will be available to view online through the College’s Facebook page.  The lectures will be live streamed and recordings will be posted shortly after the event.
