Augmented Reality Welding
Garrett College Continuing Education & Workforce Development is offering a new Fundamentals of Welding course using augmented reality. This stand-alone class is designed for individuals, such as artists, farm-hands, hobbyists, and all other do-it-yourselfers, who will use welding in day-to-day projects that do not require a certification.
Using the highly realistic welding simulation system, the Miller Augmented Reality Welder, students will learn welding fundamentals by simulating multiple welding processes, and blending real-world and computer-generated images into a unique, augmented reality environment.
This augmented reality system offers innovative training that simulates live welding, allowing students of all skill levels to get a feel for welding, improve their skills and make informed career decisions. Designed with ease of use, the Miller Augmented Reality Welder will provide students an alternative learning experience and accelerate their overall training process. Join us for this new class offering in a safe and secure atmosphere.
Enrollment is open now and classes will begin on June 6, 2022 and will be held at the College’s Career Technology Training Center in Accident. Individuals are encouraged to apply early and in advance for the best scholarship opportunities. Scholarship opportunities are based on first come, first serve availability.
