All of our students have a unique story to tell. Many start out at Garrett College with plans to transfer to a four-year college or university. A large percentage of our students are the first in their family to attend college. Others seek to advance their career by learning a new skill.

Why did you choose Garrett College?
Answer: I've lived in Garrett County my whole life – I chose to attend Garrett because of the Garrett County Scholarship Program.

Did COVID-19 impact your college decisions at all? If so, how?
Answer: Yes, it did a little bit. I decided to take a gap semester in hopes that the restrictions would have lifted a little.

How has attending GC worked to your advantage?
Answer: The classes and teachers are very flexible, helpful, and manageable.

What advice do you have for a new GC student or someone on the fence about attending college?
Answer: It might be rough at first but once you settle in it's so much fun. If you need help there are a ton of people here ready and willing to help you succeed!

What are your plans after GC?
Answer: After Garrett, I plan on transferring to Frostburg State University and then move to N.C. to teach high school government.
