All of our students have a unique story to tell. Many start out at Garrett College with plans to transfer to a four-year college or university. A large percentage of our students are the first in their family to attend college. Others seek to advance their career by learning a new skill.

Did COVID-19 impact your college decisions at all? If so, how?
Answer: Yes. COVID-19 did impact my college decision. I have had to make sure I take online classes with no set times so I have time to help my children with their online learning.

Answer: Yes, attending classes online at the college has helped in a huge way during these challenging times.

What challenges have you faced and how have you overcome them?
Answer: I think just registering for classes was a huge step for me since I have been out of school for 12 years.

How have Garrett College support services, faculty or staff supported you?
Answer: Garrett College has supported me in a huge way! I had a few hiccups when registering for classes, but my advisor met with me on a Saturday to help me out. I thought that was so nice!

What are your plans after GC?
Answer: My husband, children and I live on a beef farm. Neither of us was raised on a farm so we are learning about farming together. I plan to get my business degree and hopefully become a manager at Southern States and a sales rep.
