Question: Why did you choose Garrett College?
Answer: I chose to go to Garrett College since it is close to home and all of the things that I love and has a great Natural Resources and Wildlife Technology program. I decided that I was going to Garrett my junior year of high school, which is why I was dual enrolled last year, as a senior, and started full time this year.

Question: What activities are you involved with on campus? How has this added to your college experience?
Answer: I am a part of the Garrett College Cross Country team. Being a part of this team allowed me to meet new people, which is currently hard to do considering COVID guidelines. I am a tutor in the tutoring center, which has increased my social skills and refreshed the content that I have learned in the courses that I have previously taken. I am also a member of the wildlife club. All of these opportunities have enhanced my college experience, my ability to learn time management skills, and allowed me to meet new people.

Question: COVID-19 has changed our lives dramatically. How have you adapted to the current environment?
Answer: Even though COVID has affected my time at Garrett College, I try to make the best of things. I reminisce on days where I could hang out with friends, go out in public, and even go to class without wearing a mask. Thinking of past experiences and future opportunities has helped me deal with the current issues involving COVID-19. Going to cross country meets and going out in the field in my classes are some of the most memorable experiences that I have had this semester.

Question: What advice do you have for a new GC student or someone on the fence about attending college?
Answer: My advice to new students is to cherish every moment of life. Join a club, play a sport, meet new people, and make the most of every class, because if you do not experience these things, you may regret it in the future.

Question: What are your plans after GC?
Answer: After graduating from Garrett College, I plan on transferring to Frostburg State University to major in Earth Science with a Concentration in Environmental Science and minor in Forestry and Business. After getting my bachelors, I would like to travel before settling down and beginning a career.
