Garrett County Citizens Academy
The Garrett County Citizens Academy is a five-week program designed to give participants an in-depth look at the history, responsibilities, and essential roles of law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services in Garrett County.
Participants will learn from Garrett County officials, emergency services professionals, and local leaders while visiting several sites throughout the county. Topics include the history of public safety in Garrett County, Stop the Bleed training, a public safety tour of the Garrett County Detention Center, training and education, fire and EMS equipment and resources, the 911 Center, and the future of public safety in Garrett County.
The academy is limited to 20 participants. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have transportation to attend sessions at various locations in Garrett County.
