Garrett College Foundation ‘Giving Day' tops goal

Appeal has raised nearly $8K; campaign ends December 31st

The Garrett College Foundation's third annual winter Giving Day has smashed the campaign goal of $5,000, with $7,840 collected through Monday.

The giving platform – www.garrettcollege.edu/giving-day – will remain open through December 31st for individuals wishing to make year-end gifts. All gifts benefit the Garrett College Foundation Fund, which offers emergency grants to students experiencing crises related to transportation, housing, or food insecurity.

Cherie Krug, executive director of the Garrett College Foundation, said the success of the campaign illustrated "how generous our community is to our college and our students."

Dr. Richard Midcap, Garrett College's president, echoed Krug's remarks.

"There is a real commitment in our community to supporting and nurturing Garrett College's students," said Midcap. "I appreciate the bond between the community and the College."

Each of the three annual winter Giving Days has exceeded the pre-campaign goal. All gifts made during the campaign go directly to the Garrett College Foundation Fund and are fully tax-deductible.

The Foundation's spring giving day – which is set for April 22nd – will support GCF's Annual Fund.

"The Annual Fund covers critical College and Foundation needs that arise throughout the year," said Krug.
