Thirty Garrett College student athletes have been named to the 2024-25 NJCAA All-Academic team, including seven Lakers who earned first-team honors with perfect 4.0 grade-point averages (GPAs).
Three Garrett College programs – baseball, men's basketball, and women's volleyball – qualified for the list of 2024-25 NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year by finishing with team GPAs of 3.0 or higher. GC baseball finished with a 3.28 GPA while men's basketball and women's volleyball had 3.22 and 3.15 GPAs, respectively.
GC's baseball and men's basketball squads each finished with the top team GPA in Region 20 in their respective sports. The Lady Lakers' women's volleyball team had the third-highest GPA among Region 20 volleyball squads.
“It takes a lot of teamwork and a lot of good people for this to happen,” said Eric Hallenbeck, GC's head baseball coach and co-athletics director with Elizabeth Show.
