Lady Lakers rout Potomac State College after beating ACM by 31 points
Keyser, WV – Aleeya Silver posted a triple-double as Garrett College rolled to a 93-57 women’s basketball victory Saturday afternoon at Potomac State College of West Virginia University.
Silver finished with 27points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. She was joined in double figures by Gabriella Valentinetti (25 points, six steals, five rebounds), Manuela Perez de Castro (14 points, seven rebounds), Hasana Akinloye (13 points, five rebounds), and Renee Timbers (10 points, 10 assists, five steals).
“Aleeya has been very efficient over the past three games,” GC head coach JT Lewis said of Silver, who is averaging 27.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.7 steals over those three contests – all GC wins.
“She’s done a good job of getting to her spots where she feels most comfortable,” added Lewis. “Aleeya’s also done a good job of mixing it up from the foul line, mid-range, and 3-point line.”
The Lady Lakers – who had an 11-9 lead after one quarter – scored 82 points over the final three periods to coast to victory.
“We did a great job of pressuring Potomac State and turning turnovers into points,” said Lewis. “We also got to the foul line a lot better than we normally do and we moved the ball well. I would say this was one of our better games all year.”
