Garrett College McHenry campus offices are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Offices will be closed for service from 12- 1 p.m. for lunch.

Visitors are strongly encouraged to schedule appointments (either virtual or in-person). When on campus, all visitors must follow the College’s health-and-safety measures. Please note the outreach centers (NOC, SOC, CTTC) will have variable hours - please call ahead prior to visiting these locations.

  1. Where do you go for support for your business?

    It is important for the start and growth of your business to establish and build networks. These networks can be associated with your market, business in general and the community. What is important, is that you seek out others who you can educate on your company, and gain understanding of the other businesses in the area or in your market. You learn from those in your network and that will help you grow and sustain your business.

    In Garrett County, there are a number of organizations that can help you start building your networks.

    • Garrett County Chamber of Commerce. The Garrett County Chamber of Commerce is the largest professional business association in Garrett County with nearly 600 member firms representing every industry in the region.
    • Greater Oakland Business Association (GOBA). Greater Oakland Business Association (GOBA) is a network of business owners in the Oakland area that can provide great information for those starting a new business.
    • Civic Club of Oakland. The Civic Club of Oakland is a non-profit organization founded in 1911 with purpose of promoting artistic, humanitarian, and educational efforts of the community. New members welcome.
    • Rotary Club of Oakland. Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary club membership represents a cross-section of the community's business and professional men and women.
    • Deep Creek Lake Lion’s Club. The Deep Creek Lake Lions club is a local affiliate of the Lions Clubs International, an organization dedicated to the visually impaired. The club serves the Deep Creek Lake, MD area and run two major programs - the Blind Skiers and Blind Skiers and sponsor fundraisers like the Boat Parade, Poker Cruise and Casino Nights.
