Allied Health & Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

The curriculum is designed to prepare students to take National Healthcaereer Association (NHA) certification exams for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant and Phlebotomy.

  Paramedic (2 year/Accelerated Hybrid) Register by: 6/28/2024

Garrett College's nationally accredited Paramedic Program prepares students to become skilled allied health professionals. Continuing Education & Workforce Development offers the initial paramedic training program on a two-year and an accelerated hybrid cycle. Successfully admitted students can choose from a credit certificate (30 credit hours), an Associate of Applied Science, A.A.S. (60 credit hours) degree, or a non-credit certification program.

  Certified Phlebotomy Technician Register by: 11/21/2024

Students will learn the methods for drawing blood for laboratory testing. A Phlebotomist is employed in various medical facilities including hospitals, doctor's offices, and medical laboratories. Instruction for this program will be provided by licensed health care professionals.

  Certified Veterinary Assistant Register by: 8/20/2024

This training program meets the National Association of Veterinary Technicians of America (NAVTA) guidelines and requirements for clinical experiences, certifications/licensing of instructors, and curriculum content.

  Medical Billing Coding Register by: 8/26/2024

This program prepares students for an entry level position in a variety of healthcare facilities where industry trends and skills are vastly progressing.

  Intro to Construction Trades Register by: 8/29/2024

This program will prepare students for entry-level positions on project sites by providing the basics in safety, hand and power tools, construction math, material handling, construction drawings, rigging and employability skills.

  Manual & CNC Machining Register by: 9/2/2024

This training program is designed to prepare students for a career in manual and CNC machining using classroom instruction, computer based training and extensive hands-on experience.

Students will earn a Garrett College Continuing Education and Workforce Training Certificate and will have the opportunity to take the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) entry-level student certification exam: Inspection, Maintenance & Minor Repair.

Garrett College's new Introduction to Culinary Art's program provides students with the necessary skills for entry level positions in restaurants, resorts, hotels, and catering kitchen operations.

Mountaintop Truck Driving Institute

  Commercial Drivers License Class A Register by: 4/15/2024

At the completion of the training, the student will be taken to demonstrate at their local Department of Motor Vehicles to obtain a Class A license.

Location: Mountaintop Truck Driving Institute - Grantsville, MD

  Commercial Drivers License Class B Register by: Open Enrollment

This course will cover the essentials needed to obtain a Class B license including the following: pre-trip inspection, various skills in the yard, and over-the-road instruction along with a basic overview of map reading and log books.
